Is there a minimum age requirement?

Our Direct Support Professional positions require you to be at least 18 years of age.

Do I need any experience?

We ensure that employees receive all required training in order to work with the individuals we serve. Employees hired for direct care positions will be provided with paid training in a variety of forums, including on-the-job training/shadowing and classroom settings. See our Training Tab for a list of the training we provide.

How many hours do I have to work to be eligible for FULL-TIME?

Employees that work 30 hours per week or 60 hours per pay period are considered Full Time.

What is the difference between A Youth Behavioral Specialist and a Direct Support Professional?

A Youth Behavioral Specialist works directly with youth up to age 17 assisting them with the development of personal and social skills. A Direct Support Professional will work with adults 18 and older in a supported living environment providing supportive care and other home care services.

What kind of physical requirements are there?

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is required to sit, stand, use hands and fingers, handle and feel objects and tools, and balance. Additional physical requirements to perform job duties are pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, twisting, and kneeling. Employees must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds of inanimate objects and up to 35 pounds when manually assisting the individuals we serve. Specific programs may require additional lifting capabilities.
